天才と言われるアインシュタインでさえも、独創的なアイディアは、過去のアイディアを参考にしたり、組み合わせることによって生み出している。世界で13万人以上の購読者がいるブログzen habitsに、The Little But Really Useful Guide to Creativity : zen habitsという記事があった。これは、著者が創造力を発揮するために、実際にやってみて効果が高かったものをリストアップしているので、紹介。
- Play.
- 遊ぶ。
- Don’t consume and create at the same time ― separate the processes.
- 同時に消費と創造に取り組まない。プロセスをわける。
- Shut out the outside world.
- 外界との接触を遮断する。
- Reflect on your life and work daily.
- 毎日、生活と仕事を振り返る。
- Look for inspiration all around you, in the smallest places.
- どんなに小さな場所でも、周りにある全てから、インスピレーションを探す。
- Start small.
- 小さく始める。
- Just get it out, no matter how crappy that first draft.
- 最初の案がどんなにくだらなくても、打ち明ける。
- Don’t try for perfect. Just get it out there, asap, and get feedback.

- Get out, move, see new things, talk to new people.
- 外出し、移動し、新しいものを見て、新しい人と話す。
- Read wildly different things. Especially stuff you disagree with.
- 大きく異なるものを読む。特に同意できないものを。
- Get lots of rest. Overwork kills creativity.
- たくさんの休みをとる。働き過ぎは、創造性を殺してしまう。
- Don’t force it. Relax, play, it will start to flow.
- 無理はしない。リラックスして、遊べば、フロー(自分の能力が発揮されてすべてがうまく進んでいると感じられる、精神的に高揚した状態)が始まる。
- Allow your mind to wander. Allow distractions, when you’re looking for inspiration.

- Then shut them off when you’re going to create.

- Do it when you’re excited.

- When you’re not, find something else to be excited about.

- Don’t be afraid to be stupid and silly.

- Stop reading creativity advice, clear away everything, and just create.

- Most of all, have fun doing it.
- 一番よかったのは、やることを楽しむことだ。
すべてがうまくいくとは限らないけど、これらを、色々と試してみて、良いものを繰り返していくとよさそう。
